How Foot is situated in Town End, a few doors along from the famous Dove Cottage, the home of Romantic poet William Wordsworth and a ten minute walk into the picturesque traditional Lakeland village of Grasmere. Just across the road is the northern shore of Grasmere lake, a stunning and very easy walk anytime of the year.

We are the perfect base for your visit to the Lake District. We have free private parking for all our guests and a bus service runs north and south just at the bottom of the driveway.

Six very spacious, comfortable and individually decorated bedrooms all boast seating areas, private bathrooms and free Wi-Fi. There is a terrace for our guests to enjoy the garden and beautiful views of the surrounding fells.  

Kate and Mike have been welcoming guests to How Foot since 1999 and are very well versed in recommending days out in the local area. They can also provide you with plenty of suggestions on places to eat and drink; there is a wealth of fantastic restaurants and cafes in the area.
